Arch. DE ENSAN, Ing. ECN, Dr. Sc. ETHZ

Léa holds a double degree in Engineering and Architecture. She received her Diploma in Engineering from Ecole Centrale de Nantes (France) in 2012 and her Diploma in Architecture from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Nantes (France) in 2014. In 2019, she obtained her PhD degree at the Chair of Structural Design at ETH Zurich for her dissertation "Form-driven design of bending-active tensile structures in architecture" under the supervision of Prof. Joseph Schwartz. Since 2015, she has been a teaching and research assistant at the Chair of Structural Design. She was awarded an Architecture & Technology PhD fellowship by the Institute of Technology in Architecture, D-ARCH, ETH Zurich, and in 2018, she received the Hangai Prize by the International Association of Shell and Space Structures.

She is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair of Structural Design. Her research interests focus on the role played by material as a mediator between form and forces, architecture and structure.
